Comprehensive case management
8.1 Concept
Comprehensive case management is a “personalized” modality for accompanying a
benef‌i ciary or a group/network in a process of improving their living conditions.
Personalized modality of accompaniment.
This accompaniment modality is carried out by an operator who has the respon-
sibility of organizing the institutional and community resources necessary to achieve
the objectives of assistance processes and for the person/group to f‌i nd responses to
their needs.
Accompaniment through the organizing of resources.
These processes may be very long (years) or very brief (a day or several hours),
and case managers are the point of reference for these processes. Case managers are
the ones with whom operators interact, and case managers are the ones responsible
for bringing together the necessary resources for taking action.
Operator managing a case is the point of reference for the assistance process.
The adjective comprehensive refers to the task of integrating (f‌i nding, organi-
zing, harmonizing, keeping them alive, etc.) the necessary resources for the work
to be accomplished. This task is based on the work of building the network that has
been outlined from the moment of entering the community.
