Cruise demand grows 68 percent in a decade.

Mexico, 4 Nov (Notimex) .- The demand to travel on a cruise ship recorded a 68 percent growth worldwide in this decade, which makes it one of the most dynamic tourism sectors and where more and more people and families discover that the cost-benefit ratio is greater compared to land travel.

The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) noted that the growth of demand for this industry is associated with the best prices and promotions, as well as some regions where the taste for traveling on cruise has been unleashed as is the case in Asia.

It is in this region where there is an accumulated growth of 140 percent from 2014 to date, while the Caribbean region, which includes Mexican ports such as Cozumel, occupies 35 percent of all trips around the world.

Princess Cruises, one of the main shipping companies worldwide, will have four ships in the Caribbean during the end of the year season, announced Ruth Leal, director of the shipping company in Latin America.
