Almost six thousand billion pesos invested in energy innovation centers.

Mexico, Nov. 6 (Notimex) .- The Ministry of Energy (Sener, for its acronym in Spanish) affirmed that five thousand 882 million pesos have already been invested in the development of seven Mexican Innovation Centers in solar, geothermal, wind, bioenergy, ocean power, carbon capture and storage and in the deployment of smart electric networks.

In a statement, the head of the federal agency, Pedro Joaquin Coldwell, said that the energy reform is accelerating Mexico's transition to a greener economy, while strengthening its dimension in innovation and applied science.

"The scientific community works on the development of new technologies to take advantage of old forms of energy," he said, during the award ceremony for the best technological proposals that participated in the call for the Sustainable Energy Technologies Development Project (Prodetes, for its acronym in Spanish).

On this occasion, of the 71 presented, there were six winners in the three categories: gold, silver and bronze, of technologies related to the areas of energy storage, geothermal energy, bioenergy, solar and electrical fault detection...
